I’ve spent about 500 hours taking pictures of Nil and Slot in photo mode and I’m still not satisfied. (also I have no idea how to export them so OTL they’re just wallpapers for my PS4)

I’d love to see fanart of Solas comforting Cole in a fatherly hug. Cole’s large hat has been removed by Solas to allow him to draw him close, and it’s now dangling behind Cole’s back in Solas’ gentle hands as he hugs him close. Solas’ chin rests upon the top of Cole’s head while he holds him until his fears have passed.

I adore their friendship and how Solas looks after him.

I love Cole SO FUCKING MUCH, and somehow I was possessed to write something from his POV. Here’s some Solavellan angst through the eyes of my favourite spirit.

Pika?? I’ve just realised?? Ligan, that old geezer from the Hunter’s Logde, shares tattoos with Nil (and Aloy *cough*)?? I don’t think you’ve ever mentioned in your fics -and if you have, pardon my lack of attention?

To answer your question @littlesnowarrow – nope, I never mention that Nil and Ligan have the same face tats, but I did think about it when writing the fic! In Chapter 11 of Stormbirds and Stalkers, Aloy asks Nil about Carja eye tattoos:

“Why do some Carja have tattoos around their eyes? What’s the significance of your tattoos, for example?” Suntress, as always, was irrepressibly curious, and had begun peppering him with questions.

“They were once a way of marking family lines for noble men. But they’re just decorative now,” Nil told her as he turned the hare. “We don’t all have them anymore, and women get them too. But it’s still only nobles that have them.”

I actually included this explanation on purpose because I didn’t want there to be a significant present-day link between all the people who share the same eye tats. Ligan isn’t the only one who has the same tats as Nil;  Ranaman, that douchebag from the Fatal Inheritance sidequest, also has the same ones. There are also multiple Carja who share Vanasha’s tattoos, such as that random noblewoman you talk to during the Robbing the Rich sidequest, as well as Cantarah, the woman in Meridian that you trade Banuk artifacts with. 

Given that the tattoos are so prevalent among the Carja, I didn’t think it made sense for all people with the same tattoos to be linked by family/position/rank. I mean, it’s entirely plausible that they are, but I decided to go with a less ceremonial and more aesthetic story behind the Carja tattoos. The Carja do love their aesthetics, after all… 😊

I do have a Lavellan x Blackwall WIP I’m writing, “Lavellan’s Knight,” on AO3. It’s great, I love it, but not at the point where they’re together quite yet. Give it a couple chapters and come visit! 

As for recs, here’s a good handful!

I’ve reread the many pieces of “The Many Adventures of Aella and Thom” by Meraad on AO3, with a Vashoth inquisitor. The series ranges from G-rated feels trips to E-rated smut fests. Everything is lovely and some are heartbreaking and it’s all just really wonderful. 

Another good one is “By Any Other Name” by queenofkadara. Smut, and delicious, and lots of feelings there. Dalish inquisitor, and it’s lovely.

“Before Those Hands Pulled Me From The Earth” by hideyourfires features a Cadash inquisitor and is very sweet fluff. 

I haven’t finished the Blackwall x Lavellan ficlet collection “Ma Emma Lath” by Lady_Eglantine yet, but so far it’s nice and wonderful, lots of fluff and feelings interspersed with some smut. 

And for my fifth rec, the Blackwall x Lavellan “Midsummer Dream” by @dismalzelenka is just, way too fucking good. Smutty and sweet, just as the best things in life should be.
