Well, HZD doesn’t have romance and that game is amazing. I get that we all love Bioware games for the romances, and this is disappointing as fuck.
But, if they truly want Anthem to be different, to be something totally new for the company, nixing romances is definitely a way to establish that.
This news hurts and gives me pause, but I’m still holding out hope that this story can be good.
I take issue with the phrase “the romantic stuff”. Could that be any more dismissive-sounding? As though “that romantic stuff” is just silly and frivolous and can be brushed aside?
Sure, it’s not necessary for a good game to have a romance component – HZD as an excellent case in point – but they need to be cognizant of the language they use. Romantic relationships in games – in movies, comics, books, stories of all kinds – shouldn’t be disparaged.
